Why work at CAI?

Plant Worker -01 (1).jpg

Coming out of college, I knew I wanted to work in biotech. I graduated with a degree in chemical engineering, and some of the most interesting classes I took were my biotech electives. My junior year I looked up every biotech and pharmaceutical company, big and small, within an hour drive of my apartment, and eventually landed an internship with a generic pharmaceutical company. My experience there only amplified my desire to work in the industry. Then came finding a job after college.

Now I was searching for jobs more than driving distance of my apartment. I applied and sent out resumes to over 100 companies hiring various engineering titles, mostly biotech and pharma. I hoped I would get noticed by AstraZeneca, Pfizer, Genentech, and other cutting-edge companies doing work I would love to be involved in. There was a lot of waiting, some denials, and I worried I wouldn’t be able to find a job in the field I wanted.

Then, out of the blue, a CAI employee I knew contacted me to tell me about the company. I hadn’t heard of CAI before, but it immediately caught my attention once I heard what kind of work they did – consulting for some of the top biotech companies all over the world. Why had I not considered something like this before? She described the different work people do, all with the same job title, from aseptic processing to software data systems to project management.

It sounded like a dream come true. I quickly applied and ultimately was hired, and I couldn’t be happier. In a strange sort of way, it was like I was hired by all the companies I had applied to before CAI. I had opportunities to do work for big name biotech and pharma companies, and even more companies than I considered before, doing diverse types of work as well. The different career paths specializing in technical setting, project management, and client relations made it even more exciting as my work with CAI continues.

CAI gives its employees the tools necessary to succeed in industry and genuinely wants each employee to succeed. I am striving to gain the knowledge and technical experience of my coworkers, and I know CAI will provide me with the opportunities to do so.
