Position Summary
CAI provides professional services to life science and data center industries.
The Scheduling Program Manager establishes, manages, and directly supports the CAI scheduling program necessary to enable project scheduling activities as part of CAI project delivery, or as a direct scheduling service to our clients.  The Scheduling Program Manager works with Project Managers, Client Managers, Regional Managers, and Director of PMO to provide project schedule setup, management, monitoring, and other schedule support to CAI projects.  This role will also improve the training program, tools, and templates needed to increase the scheduling capabilities within the organization.
 
Responsibilities
Develop the CAI Scheduling Program and training within the PMO:
·Identify, develop, and implement a scheduling training program necessary to improve the scheduling capabilities across the organization (primarily within our PM roles).
· Develop tools, templates, and examples to support training and efficient implementation of scheduling practices on CAI projects.
· Deliver scheduling training to the organization as part of Project Manager training and situationally as needed.
·  Update or replace existing materials (GL-06, Building a Resource Loaded Schedule (Guideline) and the Scheduling training module within the CAI Project Management Course).
·Develop and implement refresher and ongoing training.
· Implement ongoing improvements to the program.
Project Support
· Provide scheduling support to CAI projects in the following ways depending on specific project needs (in order of effort):
- Make available training and tools to PMs who are skilled in scheduling.  Be available to assist with questions or troubleshooting.  Provide guidance and oversight (minimal).
-Work with the Project Manager to setup the initial schedule, provide ongoing support to the project scheduling efforts, provide monitoring and oversight of scheduling efforts.
-Own the project schedule.  With input from the Project Manager, setup the project schedule, maintain the project schedule, attend relevant project meetings, provide reports to the CAI and Client team that are useful for the planning and management of work.
·May provide direct scheduling services to clients (vs. the scheduling responsibilities for CAI project scope).  These services would be part time and would become part of the role once more scheduling capabilities are developed throughout CAI (priority).
·Attend project kick off meetings for select projects.
Support the CAI Project Review Program
·Review project schedules periodically as part of the CAI project review program.  This review is to confirm that our projects are being properly managed.  The overall project review program is the responsibility of the Director of PMO.
·Communicate with the RM-Ops and Director of Global Ops on project issues.  May assist in resolving issues; however, the primary responsibility for project issue resolution is with the RM-Ops.
Support Proposal Development
·Develop high level schedules during the proposal development phase for incorporation into the proposal/bid package.
·Participate in client pre-bid meetings related to the topic of project schedule (as needed).
·Participate on large or strategic project estimates where input from a scheduling perspective is needed (estimating is not currently a responsibility of this role).
Conduct Scheduling Training as part of Project Management Training
·Conduct project controls training as part of the regular PM training course.
·Conduct ongoing project controls training as needed on one on one or webinar basis.
 
Associated Software Applications
-Scheduling will primarily occur in Microsoft Project; however, this role will likely need to interface with Primavera P6 periodically and may need to work directly within Primavera P6 depending on the software used by client teams.
·CAI is currently implementing Financial Force Professional Services Automation (PSA).  This software has basic scheduling features that CAI Project Managers will use.  The Scheduling Program Manager will need to become familiar with these features and the use cases.
 
Critical Skills and Knowledge
·Experience in the following areas:
-Advanced knowledge and experience developing, managing, and maintaining project schedules.
-Extensive working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Project.  Experience with Primavera P6 is a plus.
-Skills and experience developing and delivering training on scheduling practices.
-Experience in CAI’s core Commissioning & Qualification business area and pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.  Practical knowledge of scheduling in the construction, startup, or operation of pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities is desired.  Experience in general building commissioning or data center commissioning is a plus and will also be considered.
·Strong written and verbal communication skills.  Ability to summarize and present large amounts of information and communicate clear conclusions.  This attribute is critical for the role since you will be interfacing with multiple groups inside and outside of CAI across various business areas globally.
·Ability to work from home independently, in an efficient and effective manner.
·Ability to work across multiple departments and business areas.
·Ability to work with staff where you have no direct authority.
·Demonstrated competency in MS Excel, MS Word, Visio, and PowerPoint.  Can effectively create final products in all four MS programs.
·Ability to efficiently produce charts and graphs needed to effectively communicate schedule information.
·Recognized certifications in scheduling practices are desired but not required.

·Accommodating all time zones globally.  Work schedule flexibility will be needed.
·Up to 10% travel possible.  Travel may involve meeting with clients and CAI teams, key scheduling workshops, etc.
·This role is expected to be approximately 75% billable to CAI client projects and 25% internal to support the scheduling program within the CAI PMO.  There will be an initial ramp up period of approximately two months that may be mostly internal.
Location
The candidate must be located within one hour of an international airport.  The continental US is the preferred location.
Excellent oral and written English is required
Able to travel domestically and internationally if required 
Able to work (paid) overtime 
Able to work in the US without sponsorship now or any time or in the future
